Investor relations
WATS welcomes investors who want to back a unified retail and payments stack in Tanzania—with transparency, regulatory discipline, and a long-term partnership mindset.
We welcome conversations with strategic investors, angel groups, and institutions that believe in digital commerce growth in Africa. Our aim is shared understanding before any formal step: we value aligned incentives, clear financial disclosure, and explicit expectations on timelines and next actions.
How we invite and run an investment process
- Reach out via our investor mailbox—we respond with next steps and any foundational materials we can share under confidentiality where appropriate.
- An introductory call or meeting (virtual or in person) to align on market window, strategy, and corporate structure.
- Mutual due diligence—legal, financial, and operational—as needed for both sides.
- If both sides agree, investment documentation follows with clear reporting and governance arrangements.
Snapshot of the opportunity
WATS is building a single-operator retail platform combining customer apps, operations dashboards, and licensed mobile-money flows in Tanzania, with room to expand across the EAC as the market matures.
Revenue mixes retail and payments-related services; we work with licensed payment providers and emphasize data protection and regulatory compliance.
What we look for in an investor partner
Respect for law and ethics; a multi-year horizon rather than “quick flip” behaviour; willingness to review business metrics transparently under agreement; and aligned expectations on growth and risk in retail and payments.
If you would like to speak with leadership about a potential investment, we welcome your note—we will respond with a sensible cadence and appropriate confidentiality.
If you have a deck or one-pager, attach it so we can prepare a productive conversation.
